Amanda Houssin is the Manager of Policy, Planning, and External Relations at Western Economic Diversification Canada. She specializes in strategic policy and project management and has 15 years of experience leading various federal legislative, regulatory, program, and project initiatives. She is an experienced economist and public servant and has worked collaboratively with multiple federal government departments, Ministers and Members of Parliament, and various stakeholders to promote economic growth in Canada and to build stronger communities.
Amanda is an advocate for accessible and equitable community health care and works to deliver client-focused health care services through a feminist lens. She joined the Board of Directors at Klinic in 2019. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Women’s Health Clinic and volunteers as a Counsellor in their Birth Control and Pregnancy Program. In addition, Amanda volunteers at the United Way of Winnipeg where she works to support various community-based organizations making a difference in Winnipeg.
She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree and York University with a Masters Certificate in Project Management. She is a certified Project Management Professional and fluent in French.
