Stephanie Loewen is the lead of the VIRGO Implementation Project Team, tasked with supporting government’s implementation of Manitoba’s Mental Health and Addiction Strategy, launched in 2018. She is the former Director of the Mental Health and Addictions Branch and former Provincial Suicide Prevention Coordinator at Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living. Stephanie’s 20-year career has focused on creating more recovery-oriented, accessible mental health services. She has had opportunities to personally support and work with people with lived experience of mental illness and their loved ones to advocating for increased community services to supporting strategic planning and implementation of new policy and service models through her work in government.
Through her work with government over the last 10 years, Stephanie has become very familiar with Klinic’s numerous mental health focused programs, and is a former member of two Klinic-led groups: the Manitoba Trauma-Informed Collaborative and the SPEAK Advisory Council. She is a passionate supporter of the work that Klinic does with individuals, families and other agencies in its community, Winnipeg and province-wide. Stephanie joined Klinic’s Board in 2019.
