Mobile Withdrawal Management Service (MWMS)
Our team brings care right to you. We support you for up to 30 days with daily visits from a team of health and support workers. We aim to make managing your journey safer, easier, and more comfortable while giving you the power to take control of your recovery.
MWMS: Who it’s for and how it works
Adults 18 and older living in Winnipeg, East St. Paul, or West St. Paul who want to detox from a substance they are using.
You won’t go through this alone. Our team includes:
- Registered nurses.
- A doctor who specializes in addiction.
- Peer support workers (people with lived experience).
- A social worker.
- An addiction counsellor.
- Indigenous cultural support workers.
Everyone’s story is different. At MWMS, we offer care without judgment and support that meets you where you are.
We work with you, your doctor or nurse practitioner, and your support network to help you meet your recovery goals. You can also get extra support through:
- Klinic’s 24/7 Crisis Line: 204-786-8686.
- Peer support for four weeks after the service ends.
- Cultural support for Indigenous clients.
- A 7-week Relapse Prevention Group, offered every 8 weeks.
You can choose to receive care at home or another safe place, like a Short Transitional Access to Recovery (STAR) bed.
You need a referral from a doctor or nurse practitioner to access MWMS. Your healthcare provider completes and submits an MWMS referral form to Klinic.
