Craving Change

Three 2-hour sessions

Craving Change is for people who would like to improve their relationship with food and adopt healthier eating habits.

In this program you will:

  • Learn about what influences your food choices.
  • Change your thinking to change your eating.
  • Learn to comfort yourself without food.

Note:  there is a workbook that costs $10 that is used during class and is yours to keep after the class.  Please bring $10 to the first class.  If you cannot afford this workbook at this time please let us know by calling the registration info line.

Diabetes Essentials

One 2-hour session

Learn what diabetes is and how it affects the body. This class introduces management basics such as healthy eating, physical activity, and medications.

February 6, 2019   (Wednesdays)  –  6:00 to 8:00 PM

Diabetes & Eating

One 2-hour session

Learn tools to help you eat healthier, including the diabetes food guide, glycemic index, reading food labels and to build a healthy plate.

February 13, 2019   (Wednesdays)  –  6:00 to 8:00 PM

Heart Health Essentials

One 2-hour session

This program is for people diagnosed with a heart condition or at risk for a heart condition.  If you have a family history of heart disease, have high cholesterol, hypertension, or diabetes, this call is for you.

In this program you will:

  • Learn what heart disease is, and know how to manage targets for blood pressure and cholesterol.
  • Learn steps and strategies for managing risk factors, and improving heart health starting with how to set a realistic health goal.
  • Understand the warning signs of heart attack and stroke.

Eating For Health

One 2-hour session

Eating for Health provides nutrition education to better understand healthy eating and how it relates to cardiovascular disease risk and prevention.

In this program you will:

  • Learn about diet and how it affects health.
  • Learn practical tips and strategies to change your own habits.

This program is recommended to be paired with the “Heart Health Essentials” program to provide a comprehensive understanding of modifiable risk factors in cardiovascular health.
