Klinic Community Health (Klinic) has expanded its services to ensure a continuum of wraparound community care for survivors of sexual assault and/or intimate partner violence. The Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence Crisis Response Program ensures survivors will have a choice to seek support in a community-based setting if they do not require emergency medical treatment or would like to access care in a non-hospital environment.
The Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Sexual Assault/Intimate Partner Violence program remains available 24/7 for survivors. Klinic Advocates will continue to provide support to survivors receiving services through HSC.
General Eligibility Criteria:
- Survivors of sexual assault and/or intimate partner violence
- Medically stable
- Services are inclusive of all gender identities, expressions and sexual orientation
- No geographic catchment or time limitation. Clients are welcome from anywhere in Manitoba

Sexual Assault Crisis Line

Offers 24/7 crisis support for survivors and/or their families and loved ones. Crisis counsellors can provide support, resources and information on services such as Third Party Reporting. Counsellors can also forward callers to the Forensic Nurse on Duty line to make an appointment. Survivors can request Klinic Advocate support through the crisis line. Click here for more info.
Forensic Nurses
Provide medical services including physical assessment of injuries, testing, treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and pregnancy prevention. Nurses can also offer evidence collection and assist clients if they are wanting to involve police.
Advocates*
Provide emotional support, advocacy and information including police reporting options. Advocates can be present with clients during a medical exam, police statements and court processes. Click here for more info.
Indigenous Cultural Support*
Provide emotional and spiritual support and can be available to smudge. They can accompany clients during appointments with health care providers and connect to other Indigenous cultural supports in the community.
Drop-In Counselling*
Support and assist those who would like counselling supports. They can also provide information about other resources that may be helpful. Click here for more info.
