This summer Klinic Community Health is moving to a new space, and piloting a new volunteer opportunity – Welcome Volunteers!
Our Welcome Volunteers will play the very important role of welcoming clients and community members into our new space at 167 Sherbrook, sharing information about Klinic and all of our services, and keeping our front area organized and comfortable.
Welcome Volunteer Requirements
We are looking for applicants who can welcome people into our space with kindness and compassion, who can reflect Klinic’s values through their work, and who bring an openness to learning and growth. We’ll provide extra training to help you do this work in a way that feels trauma-informed and supportive of equity and choice, and some extra learning about communication, and privacy in health care.
Our Welcome Volunteers will be one of the first people visitors speak with when they arrive at Klinic, so English language skills and communications skills are especially important. Extra languages and knowledge of different cultures would definitely be an asset, as well as experience living in our neighborhood. Welcome Volunteers will also spend a lot of time on their feet, and should have some comfort in approaching and speaking to new people.
Applicants will need to attend an interview and provide some references before beginning in this position, and also need to be willing to apply for a Criminal Record Check, a Child Abuse Registry Check, and an Adult Abuse Registry Check.
