We hope that you will join us in exploring these different approaches to physical and mental well-being.
There is no cost for most of these activities.
Mindfulness meditation is a practice of settling the mind and body in full awareness of the present moment. By learning to sit with our own thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations without judgement, we can respond to life’s many ups and downs. In this 60 minute group session, participants learn simple sitting and walking meditations and explore opportunities for informal practice in daily life. Together we experience the art of “being.”
Tuesdays, 12:00 noon to 1:00pm at no cost
(No late entries when room door is closed)

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment without judgement. Mindfulness invites us to be fully present, open, and available to our self and others. It seeks to cultivate a deeper knowledge and trust of self; to enable us to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully; and to raise awareness of the body, mind, and emotions. Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally paying attention to the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness can assist us in managing stress, pain, and illness. It is a way of being that allows us to live more fully in the present, letting go of the past and worrying less about the future.
The MBSR course that Klinic offers is based on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program developed by Dr. Kabat Zinn from the University of Massachusetts, Faculty of Medicine. This course includes eight weekly classes and one full Saturday 9am – 4pm. It is also important to know that there is daily mindfulness practice throughout the course.
The course is designed as a program that asks participants to actively engage in the practice and process of the course. It includes mindfulness activities, guided instruction in mindfulness meditations, gentle stretching and mindful yoga, mindful walking, and group reflection on the practice experience. Each participant is provided with weekly handouts, 2 guided meditation CDs, and daily practice instructions.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Courses are free for those who use Klinic services. The fee for non-Klinic participants is currently $200 (subject to change; some limited scholarships are available).
A phone conversation is required if you wish to add your name to the course participant list.
