Klinic Community Health Centre and SERC Sexuality Education Resource Centre Announce Appointment of New Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — The Boards of Directors for Klinic Community Health Centre and SERC are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Chammartin as Executive Director to both organizations. Nicole started in her new role October 1st, 2014 after the departure of long time Executive Director Lori Johnson in spring 2014. Janet Shubert, Board Chair for Klinic shares, “We are thrilled to have Nicole on board and we are looking forward to working together to continue to fulfill our vision for engaged and healthy communities, or Just Care, as we say at Klinic.” Janet adds, “Replacing Lori Johnson was a big task for both these boards after her years of dedicated leadership. We wish her all the best and are confident the organization will continue to grow and thrive with Nicole’s support.”

In 2004 Klinic Community Health Centre and SERC joined forces to better serve the community under a shared Executive Director and management structure. Lori Johnson spent 10 years in this role during which time both organizations experienced significant growth and change developing reputations as leaders of health and education services in Winnipeg, Brandon and around the province. SERC Board Chair Karen Dana notes that both boards engaged in a rigorous search for a new Executive Director with the support of Harris Consulting. “On behalf of both SERC and Klinic I would like to both thank Harris Consulting for their support, and all of the outstanding candidates who showed interest in working with us.”

Newly appointed Executive Director Nicole Chammartin is excited to get to work, sharing, “Assuming this role I know I have to fill some very big shoes, I am inspired by what I have seen these organizations do working as a partner for so long, and I am excited to begin to work with the boards, staff and volunteers to fulfill our important mandates.” Nicole has spent the last seven years as the Executive Director of CMHA Winnipeg, also serving in the role of Executive Director of CMHA Manitoba during the merger of the two organizations. Nicole has an extensive history of working with government, health authorities, and non profit organizations in the areas of community development, health promotion and health and mental health service delivery. Nicole has a Master of Social Work from the University of Manitoba focusing on administration and public policy.
