SEPT 9, 2016- WINNIPEG, MANITOBA: Suicide can be prevented, and you are not alone. This is the message that Klinic Community Health and Winnipeg Suicide Prevention Network (WSPN) want to get out to all Manitobans, with the re-launch of reasontolive.ca on September 9th, 2016.
Formerly the Manitoba Suicide Line, the newly designed, mobile-friendly website and 24/7 phone line aims to reach Manitobans at risk of suicide, concerned family or friends, and those who have experienced a suicide loss.
Klinic and WSPN will be hosting an event today to launch the website, ahead of the 13th annual World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10th). This year’s event theme is Walking Together Towards Hope and Healing.
DATE: Friday, September 9 from 12:00pm-12:45pm.
WHERE: Vimy Ridge Memorial Park, Winnipeg. In the event of rain, alternate location is Klinic Community Health, located at 870 Portage Ave.
PROGRAM: There will be a variety of speakers, the launch of the newly branded Manitoba Suicide Prevention & Support Line website, the Teaching of The Drum, and a Service of Remembrance. A spokesperson on behalf of Klinic Community Health will be available to speak with media before and after the event.
