Barbara is a Certified Professional in Human Resources with 20 years of experience in human resources management, leadership, and consulting in the private, not-for-profit, and public sectors.
She brings compassion and pragmatism to the Klinic Board along with her career experience in policy development, workforce development, strategic planning and direction setting, organizational development, and organizational and board performance assessment. Barbara has been a member of the Klinic Board of Directors since 2012, and has volunteered with Klinic in a number of direct service roles in counselling programs for over 20 years.
Barbara believes information sharing and support empower people to improve their circumstances and celebrate their personal value. She is committed to the role Klinic and Klinic’s partners in community health play in supporting communities and people.
Barbara lives in Winnipeg’s West End and works downtown as the Human Resources Director – Manitoba eHealth in the Winnipeg Health Region. She has become an urbanite even though she grew up on a mixed grain and cattle farm in eastern Manitoba. When not volunteering, she is constantly learning, by taking classes in topics ranging from art to counter-violence to spinning wool to yoga, or by voraciously reading with a particular enjoyment of fantasy and science fiction.
