When Klinic launched the Calm in the Storm App and Website in 2012, there was a significant gap in resources for individuals who sought mental health information, as well as, mindfulness meditations that they could use on their Smartphones. How quickly things have changed in the last 9 years! In looking at our now outdated app, we have explored a number of ways to update and expand it to make it relevant and up to date in 2021. This exploration has led to a number of challenges and barriers to bring our app to the standards and capabilities of newer apps that are available elsewhere.
To update our app, it would take a significant amount of time, resources, and technology to put the app on both IOS and Android platforms, the time required for new content, upkeep, monitoring, and ensuring ongoing support. It became apparent that recreating the app and maintaining it has gone beyond the means of our local community health centre.
Sadly, this is why we have decided to discontinue the app and website effective March 12th, 2021.
We have explored a number of other mental health and wellness apps and would like to recommend The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health app. This app is available on all Smartphone platforms (IOS, Google Play, Android) and provides a wealth of resources for our clients.
The app can be found here:

We are so proud of our award-winning app that was so ground-breaking in its day. We are grateful for those who have helped to create the app, to those who supported it, and for people who used the app for nearly the last decade.
