What: World Suicide Prevention Day Event on Monday, September 10th, 2018.
Where: Vimy Ridge Park on Portage & Home Street. In the event of rain, event will be held at Klinic Community Health, 870 Portage Ave.
Theme: This year’s theme for World Suicide Prevention Day is “Working Together to Prevent Suicide.”
When: Monday, September 10th, 2018, from 12:00 – 1:00PM
Agenda:
12:00-12:15: Greetings and opening remarks
12:15-12:25: Keynote speaker-topic “Working Together to Prevent Suicide”.
12:25-12:30: Music
12:30-12:40: Meditative walk of remembrance and drumming courtesy of the Dream Catchers Program, a part of Klinic Community Health.
12:40-12:45: Message of hope
12:45-1:00PM: Cheque presentation from Kris Goodman on behalf of ‘Breaking the Silence’ motorcycle ride fundraiser for the Manitoba Suicide Prevention and Support Line
A spokesperson on behalf of Klinic Community Health will be available to speak with media before and after the event.
The event is open to community members and the public. All are welcome. We will be hosting a community activity encouraging attendees to write a note about how they find hope, help and strength.
